Perfect for the military barracks life
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
As a cadet at US federal military academy, I have tight restrictions on appliances in my room. This meets them… auto-shut off, rugged carafe, dripless pour while brewing, small…. and it makes a nice cup of coffee. The steel carafe probably cools the coffee quicker than glass, but I need to drink it quickly anyway.

NOT recommended
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I usually do not write product reviews, but this coffeemaker was of such poor quality, that I felt compelled to inform others of its major flaws.
1. Broke after ONLY 3 months of use! I previously owned a Mr. Coffee 4-cup maker for 4 years.
2. Produces plastic taste in coffee – that is if you don’t leave the lid up to allow the water to dry out after brewing. Makes you wonder what kind of toxins are making their way into your coffee.
3. Carafe spills while pouring – I know this sounds unbelievable, but the poor design of the lid results in a mess when pouring at a moderate rate.
I would advise against buying this coffeemaker. It looks good, but that’s all.

Dribbled, then quit working
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
Makes good coffee, but can’t stop the pot from dribbling no matter how you hold it. After six months the power switch broke and we were almost grateful for the excuse to trash this and get something else.

leaky carafe and frequently overflows
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
The coffeemaker frequently overflows when making coffee, causing a huge mess in the kitchen. The carafe leaks where the handle is attached, further making a mess. Fed up now and into the trash. Last Cuisinart I buy.

Chinese-made garbage.
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Started having problems after two weeks with the on/off switch not working properly. Exchanged it and had the same problem again six weeks later. Then the store wouldn’t help because it was out of their return period. Piece of junk and probably a fire hazard. Wasted $30.00.

small coffee maker
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I was looking for a small coffee maker with a stainless steel carafe. This one works well, but you have to be careful to insert the top carefully so as to avoid spilling.

Horrible product!
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I bought one of these a few years ago thinking it would be nice to have the unbreakable carafe. This is without a doubt the worst coffee maker I have ever owned. I would have returned it, but could not find my receipt. Carafe leaks around the rim, the pause and pour feature does not work most of the time. I have a Krups and broke the glass carafe, but I would not buy anything from Cuisinart again.

good coffee, terrible design
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
although this little machine brews good coffee, the design is awful. the carafe drips terribly when pouring (i lose probably 1 cup of brewed coffee due to dripping), and the water compartment is awkward to fill.

Safer Than Glass
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Everytime my dad comes to visit me he comments on how much he loves my coffee. I always fresh brew coffee. My dad was drinking instant. The second time my dad commented on how much he liked my coffee, I decided to purchase as an early birthday gift this coffeemaker for him.
My dad is elderly. I was afraid of purchasing for him a coffeemaker with a glass decanter, which was why I purchased this coffeemaker. Glass decanters are not always that sturdy. I didn’t want him to have to worry about broken glass if his decanter did break.
I know Cuisinart is known for fine quality kitchen products. I also wanted to send him a smaller coffeemaker, which this 4 Cup one is perfect for one or two people. A 4 Cup coffeemaker is what I have. I have found it makes 2 large mugs of coffee if you fill the decanter to 4 cups, but you don’t have to make 4 cups of coffee, if you don’t want to. I was just drinking too much coffee otherwise.
My dad told me this doesn’t take up alot of space on his kitchen counter. I thought a black coffeemaker would be nice for a man, but also for a woman. He has had no problem using his.
My dad is enjoying his coffeemaker, so to me I accomplished my most important objective.
